TARGETissuesAPPROACHtoStudyUrgentandenvironmentalconcernsareissuesthattheinternationalcommunityfaceseveryday.Theseissuesalsotranscendnationalboundarieswhichmakeitimpossibleforonecountrytoresolvetheseissuesalone.Therefore,althoughtherearediverseactorsindividuallytryingtoaddresstheseproblems,aswellasindividualswhoareusingfederalorlocalgovernments,internationalorganizationsregionalorganizations,domesticandinternationalNGOs,andsocialnetworkstoworkontheseissues,itisonlywhenwecometogetherandworkincooperationthattheseissueswillberesolved.Peace,development,humanrights,andtheenvironmentareglobalpublicItisbecauseofapeacefulsociety,thatweareabletoliveourresources.everydaylives.Itisalsobecauseofoursteadysourceofincome,secureworkingconditions,theavailabilityofsaferesidentialspace,thatwecanliveourlivessopeacefully.Then,howcanweenjoysuchglobalresourceswithoutgivingsomethingback?Thisiswhyinternationalcooperationbetweendiversesocialactorsisnecessarybecauseitensuresthecontinuationofourpeacefuleverydaylives.EligiblewomenvoterslininguptovoteintheConstituentAssemblyelectioninNepalissuessuchaspeace,development,humanrights,Social Innovation ProgramSchool of Social Sciences, Waseda UniversitysuchastheUnitedNations,The“PeaceBuildingandInternationalCooperation”fieldiswhereyoumastertheabilitytoconnectandbuildcooperationbetweendisparatesocialactorsinordertoresolvethevarioussocialissuesexistinginglobalsociety.First,itisimportanttounderstandtherealityofglobalsociety.Inordertogainsuchbasicunderstanding,theTAISIprogramprovidesstudentswithaninterdisciplinaryapproachandatheoreticalanalysisframeworkonthesourcesofconflictsuchasreligiousdifferences,racialdiscrimination,in-comedisparity,environmentaldegradation,unequaldistributionofnaturalresourcesandsoon.Next,studentsengageinfieldworkthatincreasestheirabilitytofindcreativeandimaginativesolutionstocurrentissues.Sothroughfieldworkandthecollaborationofdiverseactors,wehopestudentswillknowhowtocreateeffectiveandfeasiblesolutionstoglobalissues.Thesetwolearningmethods,theunderstandingofdesktoptheoryandappliedfieldwork,isthebasisofthisprogram’scurriculum.DeploymentoftheInternationalSecurityAssistanceForcetoensurethatvotersinAfghanistanhaveasafevotingenvironment14Field 02PEACE BUILDING &INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
