(Image courtesy of Mini-München Lab)*TheTAISIProgramconductssocialexperimentsandcaseanalysesofadvancedprojectsfromJapanandaroundtheworld.Dr.OsamuSodajoinedtheSchoolofSocialSciencesasaprofessorin2002.HecurrentlyservesastheDeanoftheFacultyofSocialSciences,WasedaUniversityandasDirectoroftheInstituteofUrbanandRegionalStudies,WasedaUniversity.HereceivedhisdoctorateinEngineeringfromWasedaUniversitycommunitydevelopment,resilience,urbanregeneration,andpublic-privatepartnerships.HewasawardedwiththePaperPrizeofArchitecturalInstituteofJapanforhiswork“TheContextandFutureofSmallUrbanSpaceDevelopmentinJapan”in2004.HismostrecentpublicationwasTheTextbookofMachizukuri(JapaneseCommunityDevelopment),KajimaPress,2017.specializesandplanning,inSatoshiKurokawa(Ph.D.inLaw)isaprofessorofEnvironmentalLawattheSchoolofSocialSciences.Heisinterestedinimprovingtheenvironmentandqualityoflifeinurbanareas.Biodiversityinacityisoneofthekeywordsofhisresearch.Healsodoesresearchinclimatechangelaw,energylaw,pollutioncontrollaw,andriskmanagementlaw.HeisalsofamiliarwithAustralianTHEORYOFENVIRONMENTALREGULATION(2004)”isamonghispublishedworks.environmental11“THElaw.Field 01COMMUNITY & SOCIALDEVELOPMENT
