4年次3年次2年次Check16第1・2・3セメスターその他外国語の履修と並行して入門科目を英語で学びます。その後はその他外国語のみ、あるいはその他外国語と英語を合わせて使用する中級科目で当該国の文化や歴史を学びます。第4・5セメスター第6・7・8セメスター海外留学終了後も引き続きその他外国語で実施される中級科目や上級科目を履修し、当該国について理解を深めつつ、その他外国語能力のさらなる維持や向上を目指します。APM Program （Area Studies and Plurilingual/Multicultural Education Program）は、フランス語、スペイン語、中国語、朝鮮語の4言語に焦点をあて、これらの語学習得はもちろんのこと、その言語を用いて、当該国の文化、歴史、経済、政治などを多面的に学ぶCLIL（Content and Language Integrated Learning：内容と言語の両方を合わせて教育する学習方法）教育を展開します。学内選考を経て、1年間の海外留学がスタートします。留学先では現地学生と同じ科目を履修することで、これまで培ったその他外国語の能力をさらに伸ばします。私は大学入学時からスペイン語の学習を始め、大学２年次の秋学期からスペインのバルセロナ大学へ留学に行きました。ゼロからのスタートでも現地でスペイン語での授業を受けることができたのはAPM科目のおかげです。APM科目では様々なレベルの学生がいますが、全員が参加できるようなディスカッションやロールプレイを体験することができました。また、クイズやワークショップなどを実施している科目もあり、楽しみながら学べる魅力的な科目が非常に多いです。クラスは少人数制で、語学力に自信がなくても積極的にチャレンジできる環境です。また、語学力アップだけでなく、スペインや南米の文化と慣習についても学ぶことができ、留学先で必要な基礎知識も身につけることができました。選択した言語圏に留学しなくても、APM科目の一部または全部を履修することが可能です。また、複数言語の科目を履修することも可能です（例：フランス語のAPM入門科目を取った学生が、中国語のAPM中級科目を履修する等）。 ▶︎▶︎From FacultyBeyond Global English: understanding the world in its own wordsProfessorドゥテ シルヴァン マッチュウ ジュリアン DETEY, Sylvain Matthieu JulienIn SILS, plurilingual-multicultural education is part of what students seek, receive, and draw from for finding success in their personal and professional lives, both in Japan and abroad. Understanding the world, helping others to understand Japan, getting a proper grasp of social and cultural differences across communities and how these differences can impact all the other fields covered in our curriculum, from economy to politics, education, and art, is what plurilingual-multicultural education is about. To fully acknowledge the diversity of the world, Japanese and global English are no longer enough: all languages are pathways to a sharper vision of what different communities are, think, and aspire to.
