In SILS, I was able to learn various concepts and was able to connect them to not only real-life situations, but other concepts from other classes as well. Additionally, I was also able to connect with my professors and classmates through various in-classroom discussion. From there, I was able to not only gain new perspectives, but also form deep connections with all sorts of people. As SILS promotes their student’s agency in choosing their own subject and schedules, I was able to make the most of my time by striking a good school-life balance. I would spend my free time hanging out with friends, working on my hobbies and passion as well as exploring the wonderful city of Tokyo. Joining SILS has contributed to my long-term goal of learning more about different concepts and applying them in real-life situations, improving my problem-solving skills, as well as broadening my horizons by interacting and learning more from different people from varying backgrounds.Furthermore, I was able to accomplish my long-time dream of studying abroad in Japan and experiencing Japanese and various other cultures first-hand.During high school, my interests spanned across various fields of study, prompting me to seek an undergraduate program that would help me discover my true passions. Upon researching potential study options, I found the curriculum offered by the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) to be an ideal fit for my goals. SILS's Liberal Arts curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore a diverse range of academic disciplines during their first and second years, laying the groundwork for more in-depth research during the third and fourth years. During my time at SILS, I embraced this opportunity by enrolling in a wide array of courses, ranging from environmental studies to economics and accounting. Additionally, my study abroad experience at UC Santa Barbara allowed me to further cultivate my interest in accounting. Now that I have returned to Waseda, I have structured my semesterly studies to focus on economics, accounting, and finance, building upon the foundation laid during my earlier coursework. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable insights into various academic fields, allowing me to narrow down my interests and pursue a path that aligns with my passions.Wake upBreakfastPrepare for the day(make up, journal, checkingschedules)Go to campus● 8:30● 10:00Go to library to study, review, do assignments● 12:00● 13:00LunchClass “Citizenship & Education in Contemporary Globalization”Lunch● 14:45● 16:30● 17:00● 18:30● 19:00● 20:00● 22:00Reading for Subjects in Our Society (Japanese)"Keigo" Communication (Japanese)Reading Comprehension Skills (Japanese)Analyzing Japan through Public Advertisements Intermediate (Japanese)Seminar Religious Thought and Culture -Religionand ViolenceWar and PeaceWar and PeaceCitizenship & Education in ContemporaryGlobalizationCulture, Language & Education in a Globalized WorldITO, ShogoritchiAdmitted in April 2021Graduate of Seikei Senior High School (Japan)DATYANA, MikaAdmitted in September 2021Graduate of Global Jaya School (Indonesia)Making connections in more ways than oneDiscovering where my passion lies, the My We
