The quota is usually limited to one to three students.Depending on the program, some students take regular courses with local students, while others focus on foreign language study.These programs allow students to participate in curricula tailored by host universities for Waseda University students. While focusing on foreign language study, students will take a theme-based curriculum according to their language proficiency.SILS has the agreements with partner universities and sends students to them. Tuition and fees at host universities will be waived, and students are only required to pay tuition and fees to Waseda University.*About the costs for long-term study abroad programs[EX & DD Program] Tuition fees are paid to Waseda University and are waived by the host university. However, in addition to tuition fees at Waseda University, students will need about 1,000,000 yen to 2,000,000 yen per year for accommodation and living expenses.[CS Program]Tuition and fees are waived by Waseda University, and students pay the Program Fee (including operation fee of the host university and program development and operation fees of Waseda University) to their host universities. Students with a first language other than Japanese may study abroad on a voluntary basis. Students may choose a study abroad destination from among Waseda University’s partner universities all around the world. Credits earned during study abroad will be recognized as credits for graduation, and students who study abroad can graduate in four years. One major feature of SILS, as a school grounded in the liberal arts, is that it is relatively easy to recognize credits earned overseas.
