In SILS, I was able to learn various concepts and was able to connect them to not only real-life situations, but other concepts from other classes as well. Additionally, I was also able to connect with my professors and classmates through various in-classroom discussion. From there, I was able to not only gain new perspectives, but also form deep connections with all sorts of people. As SILS promotes their student’s agency in choosing their own subject and schedules, I was able to make the most of my time by striking a good school-life balance. I would spend my free time hanging out with friends, working on my hobbies and passion as well as explore the wonderful city of Tokyo. Joining SILS has contributed to my long-term goal of learning more about different concepts and applying them in real-life situations, improving my problem-solving skills, as well as broadening my horizons by interacting and learning more from different people from varying backgrounds. Furthermore, I was able to accomplish my long-time dream of studying abroad in Japan and experiencing Japanese and various other cultures first-hand.SILS students have many classes to choose from. I focused on the spring classes which might be the key toward the ideal vision of my future. In the class such as “Introduction to Business” conducted in English, one can understand the basics of the business. In addition, I had chosen some interesting classes such as “Dinosaurs: Discovery and Research”, which is unique to the SILS students. Outside of the classrooms, I often hang out with my friends to have local food around the university, fondly known as “Wase-meshi” and walk around the main campus. Since I entered the University, I started a part-time job as an online cram schoolteacher. I nurture problem-solving skills by considering the objectives of each student. I enjoy being a DJ, so when I am free, I conduct search of the latest Electronic Dance Music (EDM).● 8:30● 10:00● 12:00● 13:00ASANO, MitsukiAdmitted in April 2022Graduate of Shizuoka Prefectural Fuji High School (Japan)Making connections in more ways than oneDATYANA, MikaAdmitted in September 2021Graduate of Global Jaya School (Indonesia)LunchWake upBreakfastPrepare for the day(make up, journal, checkingschedules)Go to campusGo to library to study, review, do assignmentsLunch“Citizenship & Education inContemporary Globalization”Reading for Subjects in Our Society (Japanese)"Keigo" Communication (Japanese)Reading Comprehension Skills (Japanese)Analyzing Japan through Public Advertisements Intermediate (Japanese)Seminar Religious Thought and Culture -Religion and ViolenceWar and PeaceCitizenship & Education War and Peacein Contemporary GlobalizationCulture, Language & Education in a Globalized WorldGetting closer to the ideal of what I want to be, through fulfilling studies and student lifeClass Schedule (4th semester/SP2)THUSchedule for a day● 7:00● 7:30● 8:00My We
