16ChinaMyanmarSwedenWaseda University has been very helpful in the process of creating both social and academic networks. I was able to make friends with students with different cultural backgrounds within and outside of the classroom. Social events like the "circle"*1 and "WasedaSai"*2 have been a highlight of my experience at Waseda University. I was able to meet like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and collaborate on shared passions through these social events. Beyond social networking, SPSE has also provided me with several academic and career opportunities. For instance, through my connections with leading universities and institutions, I've had the chance to spend a year at University College of London through an exchange program. These connections will light up one's academic journey and career choice.*1 Club Activities*2 Waseda University FestivalBack home in Myanmar, I never felt fully satisfied with my learning experience since the system was strict and rigid. This led me to embark on an educational journey in Japan with the hope of discovering my true self. I chose Waseda for its diverse and welcoming environment and SILS for its wide range of study fields including many opportunities for personal growth and enriching experiences. And now after spending a few years in Japan and learning at SILS, I can say that I have grown into a more confident and improved version of myself. I am excited to see what kind of person I will become after graduation and what I will contribute to the world. When I was looking into programs in Japan, I mainly looked for international programs with flexible curriculums that would suit my interests as they evolved. The TAISI program at Waseda University stood out to me because of the promise of discussion-based lectures in combination with relatively small class sizes. Through the curriculum, I have been able to meet people from all walks of life who have helped me understand not only more about myself, but about the world. The invaluable friendships and shared learning experiences with people I truly respect make me proud to be a student in the TAISI program.YE, YuqingSchool of Political Science and EconomicsMajor in EconomicsGraduated from Shanghai Starriver Bilingual School Peti Phyu SinSchool of International Liberal StudiesGraduated from the Conqueror Academy of Education Private High SchoolAHNLUND BERG, Vera mariaSchool of Social SciencesTransnational and Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Innovation Program (TAISI)Graduated from Kulturama High SchoolFrom Students
