Curriculum Based on Overall Course ResourcesSpecialism Certification Programs The Journalism Course is based on joint research guidance for the whole course and for each individual research area; presentations of research plans or intermediate reports for the Master’s thesis are implemented through joint research guidance when necessary. Individual research guidance by the Main and Sub Advisors is implemented through seminar classes or during office hours.For the Master’s Program, research guidance is, in principle, implemented through joint research guidance, and as part of such joint guidance, Advisors will provide individual guidance. Advisors include Main and Sub Advisors. New students choose one Main Advisor at the beginning of the academic year. In addition to the Main Advisor, students can choose one Sub Advisor. Students will apply for a Sub Advisor every academic year.In order to cultivate specialized journalists who are able to take the initiative in solving the existing problems, the Master of Arts Program for Journalism Education in the following four specialized areas: Political Science, Economics, Science・Environment・Health Care, and Data Journalism are offered for students of Journalism Course. These programs allow students to strengthen their expertise in their research field in journalism in addition to the completion of the Master’s Degree. Together with the “M.A. in Journalism”, a certificate of completion for each program will be granted to students who meet all of the completion requirements for the Master’s program and the certification program. These certification programs, which provide students with the opportunity to develop expertise in each field of journalism study, are the major feature of Journalism Course of School of Political Science. （2）指導教員と研究領域 Advisors and Research Areas 修士課程の場合、研究指導は合同指導を基本とし、その一環として指導教員による個別指導を行ないます。指導教員には、メイン・アドバイザーとサブ・アドバイザーがあります。新入生は、１年次の年度始めにメイン・アドバイザー１名を決めます。また、学生はメイン・アドバイザーに加え、サブ・アドバイザー１名を選ぶことができます。サブ・アドバイザーは、年度ごとの申請となります。18コース全体での研究指導体制Research Supervision System専門認定プログラム■政治学研究科・ジャーナリズムコース Journalism Course（1）研究指導 Research Guidance ジャーナリズムコースでは、コース全体および各研究領域での合同指導体制を基本とし、修士論文の研究計画発表や中間報告などは合同指導を通じて適時実施されます。メイン／サブ・アドバイザーによる個別研究指導は、専門研究セミナーの授業を通じて、あるいはオフィス・アワーに行なわれます。専門認定プログラムとは？ What are Certification programs? 現代の課題に主体的に取り組む専門ジャーナリストの養成を目指し、政治学研究科ジャーナリズムコース在籍の学生を対象に、「政治」、「経済」、「科学・環境・医療」、「データジャーナリズム」の４つの専門認定プログラムを設置しています。修士課程の修了要件を満たし、かつ認定要件を満たした学生には、修了時に修士（ジャーナリズム）の学位とともに、各プログラムの認定書を授与します。これは、修士号に加え、自身が研究するジャーナリズムの専門性を明確にするものです。本制度は、各分野の専門性に根ざしたジャーナリズムを学ぶことができる政治学研究科ジャーナリズムコースの大きな特徴です。
