A wide range of research supervision systemsA five-year Doctoral Program 研究指導は、各研究領域の教員全員による合同指導を基本とし、修士論文の研究計画発表や中間報告などの「合同研究指導」を適時実施します。 合同指導と連携して、それぞれの学生の研究関心に沿った指導教員（メイン・アドバイザーとサブ・アドバイザー）が、個別的に研究指導を行います。サブ・アドバイザーについては、研究の関心に沿って、他の研究領域の教員から選ぶこともできます。例えば、ある国の政治体制・選挙制度について研究したい場合、メイン・アドバイザーを比較政治研究領域から、そしてサブ・アドバイザーを現代政治領域から選ぶことができます。 政治学コースには、このように開かれた柔軟な研究指導を通じて、柔軟性に富んだ世界水準の政治学研究者を養成する態勢が整っているのです。柔軟にFlexible 専門的に 博士後期課程に進学し、さらに研究を続けて博士号の取得を目指そうとする人には、修士課程入学から５年間の一貫教育プログラムが設定されています。修士課程在籍時には、方法論科目で先進的研究を行うための基礎体力である分析手法を鍛え、その後の修士論文審査と博士後期課程入学試験で一定の成績を収めれば、博士後期課程推薦入学への道が開かれます。博士後期課程では、懇切で徹底した研究指導のもとに、研究の進捗を適正な方向に導くためのロードマップが整備され、博士論文作成までに段階的なステップを踏んでいくことで、修士課程入学から５年間で博士号を取得できるように組み立てられた指導プログラムとなっています。詳しくは、このパンフレットの「博士後期課程」のページをご覧ください。14創造性重視の開かれた研究指導博士まで５年一貫の指導プロセスGuidance from Main-advisorExpertResearch Area-specific Joint SeminarsOpen Research SupervisionFaculty-specific seminarsGuidance from Sub-advisor複数の目でMultiple Perspective学際的にInterdisciplinaryFor students who want to advance to the Doctoral Program and continue their research towards the Doctoral Degree, there is the Five-Year Education Program that spans both the Master’s and Doctoral Programs. A student who wants to continue on to the Doctoral Program needs to acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills for conducting advanced research taught in the first-year methodology courses of the Master’s Program, receive a passing grade on his or her Master’s thesis, and then pass the Doctoral Program entrance examination. The Doctoral Program provides students with a basic roadmap that guides their effort and with attentive and through research guidance. The guidance program enables students to make steady progress towards completing their Doctoral dissertation and obtaining their Doctoral degree so that they can finish the program within five years after enrolling in the Master’s Program. Based on their research objectives, students can select a secondary advisor from any research area other than their own.
