Upon the celebration of its 100th anniversary in 2011, the AASchool was reborn as a school for architecture, which represents Waseda’s re-affi rmed commitment to nurturing leading architects who have artistic abilities and skills to pass along the long-held cultural tradition and wis-dom accumulated at Waseda towards the 21st century.for adult learners as stated in the Waseda Vision 150, the university’s mid-to long term plan formulated in 2012. Those initiatives refl ect grow-ing demands in society for academic institutions that offer continuing education for life.Average life expediencies have increased and heading for 100 years old, while information technology develops and the social system changes greatly, it is argued that constant relearning and knowledge updating are essential for anybody to stay active in society in the long term.
